A huge teratoma of the pineal region

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of huge teratoma of the pineal region, completely removed by operation, was reported. This case was fairely typical in that symptoms of intracranial hypertension, diabetes insipidus, Parinaud¢¥s syndrome and precocious puberty. The adult fist in sized tumor was located in posterior portion of the third ventricle and histological findings such as typical three germ cell pattern were observed.
Literature was reviewed and incidence, etiology, symptom and treatment of the disease were discussed.
